Karin Dorothea Powers January 6, 1942 - January 25, 2022 Karin Dorothea Powers, age 80, quietly passed on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Sacramento, California. Karin arrived in Portland, Oregon with her family from Konigsberg, Germany in 1956. Upon graduating high school, she later met Dean Powers while he played for a Portland soccer team managed by Karin's father. Dean and Karin married and moved to Sacramento in 1966 where they raised their two daughters, Heidi and Kimberly. Karin was very active homemaker which offered her time to support her daughter's education and school choices. During the summers she helped with their swim team meets and organized family trips to Tahoe. She enjoyed her bowling leagues and beautiful days out on the fairways golfing with her husband and friends. In 1976, Karin became a licensed Realtor which gave her 43 years of joy helping her buyers and sellers. Karin and Dean moved back to Oregon in 1995, spending the twenty plus years in the Crooked River Ranch community on five acers overlooking extraordinary mountain ranges, as she continued her real estate career and playing lots of golf. Karin is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Powers, of 46 years; and her sister, Susan (Schiller) Harrison, brother, Manfred Schiller, and her parents, Alfred Schiller, and Elizbeth Schiller. She is survived by her two daughters: Heidi (Robert) Taylor of Sacramento, CA and Kimberly (Brian) Slavich of Wilton, CA; her siblings Lori (Schiller) Baker of Long Beach WA, and Ray Schiller of Tacoma, WA. Karin was especially proud of her six grandchildren: Alycia Alves (Slavich) of Pleasanton, CA ; Justin Slavich of Valley Springs, CA; Chris Taylor of Los Angeles; Tyler Slavich of Wilton, CA; Steven Taylor of Salt Lake City, UT; Danielle Taylor of Newport Beach, CA; and blessed with two great grandchildren. Karin's life will be joyfully celebrated by immediate family with a round of golf are her favorite Crocked River Ranch Golf Course.
